Are you throwing a holiday party? Maybe hosting overnight guests? Perhaps sooner than later? Are you running short on time to get your house ready for visitors? Not to worry, we understand! The professionals at Freeman Carpet Cleaning are here to provide some tips on how to get your house ready for guests in a jiffy!
- Remember the Scent! Funky, musty rooms do not smell clean. In fact, even if your house is spotless, it won’t feel clean to your guests if it smells bad. First, open up your windows and let your home air out. Sprinkle carpet with baking soda to absorb odors before you vacuum.
Empty all trash cans. Add a dusting of baking soda to the bottom of the cans before adding liners to absorb odors. Use scented candles or essential oil burners to add a pleasant scent.
- Eliminate Clutter! Make sure there are clear locations with adequate space for guest coats and shoes. Take a quick survey of entry way and main party areas. Pick up all clutter objects. In a pinch, laundry baskets can be a huge help. Place all extra objects in laundry baskets and stash in closets, garage, or storage shed.
- Quick Clean Bathroom. Dirty bathrooms are a huge eyesore and feel uncomfortable to use. Remove any extra objects from the sink/vanity area. Wipe down sink and toilet with a spray cleaner. Scrub the inside of the toilet. Quick mop the floor. Make sure all restrooms have adequate toilet paper, hand towels, and hand soap. Scented candles can help improve the atmosphere in the bathroom as well.
- Quick Clean Kitchen as well. Dirty kitchens are also big eyesores, especially at a gathering where you are serving refreshments. Clear counter areas of all clutter and wipe down. Scrub the sink with a powder cleaner. Quick mop the floor.
